We know many of you have been using our Sub-1GHz (SubG) Devices and Gateways (the ones often found on Amazon). We've been working hard on an official Cloud Integration to bring these devices into Home Assistant so you can finally get those alerts and sensor states directly in your dashboards.

How to set up Heiman Home in Home Assistant
Step 1: Open your Home Assistant web interface

In your browser, navigate to your Home Assistant URL (e.g.,
http://192.168.1.14:8123/home/overview) - Enter your username and password to log in

Step 2: Go to Devices & Services
- On the left sidebar, click Settings
- Select Devices & Services

Step 3: Add the Heiman Home integration
- Click the Add Integration button

- In the search box, type "Heiman Home"
- Select Heiman Home from the search results

Step 4: Link your Heiman Home account
- You'll be redirected to the Heiman account binding page
- Enter your Heiman Home account email and password
- Click Login
- Check all permission options
- Click Agree
- Confirm your Home Assistant instance URL is correct

Your smoke detectors, gateway, and other Heiman devices will now sync automatically to Home Assistant. You can view them all on the Devices page.
Setting up device automations
Want to get notified instantly when smoke is detected? Here's how to create an automation:
Step 1: Open Automations
- Go to Settings → Automations & Scenes
- Click Create Automation

Step 2: Add a trigger
- Click Add Trigger

- Select Device as the trigger type
- Choose your smoke detector from the device list
- Select the trigger condition (e.g., "Smoke alarm triggered")

- Click Add Action

- Choose what happens when the alarm triggers:
- Send a notification to your phone (great for remote alerts)
- Flash lights to warn everyone in the house
- Play an alarm sound through smart speakers
- Customize the notification title and message

- Click Save
- Give your automation a descriptive name
- Test it using the test button on your smoke detector
What can you do with it?
- View real-time smoke detector status on your dashboard
- Create custom automations for device events
- Monitor battery levels and receive low-battery alerts
- Integrate with lights, locks, speakers, and other smart devices
- Build complex multi-condition automations using the HA automation editor
